Programma
Violetta in a 1968 Paris during the years of protest: the staging by Davide Livermore comes back to Teatro del Maggio. On the poster an excellent cast with the great talent of Aida Garifullina as Violetta, alongside her the return to the Maggio of a reference interpreter for the Verdi repertoire, Francesco Meli as Alfredo, one of the most congenial roles to him. With Nadine Sierra and Francesco Meli, then there is a great baritone Amartuvshin Enkhbat who will fit in the role of Germont. "Not to provoke - says Livermore - but to tell this story more closely, to develop the richness and modernity of Verdi's masterpiece and also the scandal it created in the society of that time, in 1853. This in total respect, word for word, note by note, of the libretto and of the score ". "Even the love between Violetta and Alfredo is equally strong and revolutionary" continues the director "is that of a young and beautiful prostitute, Violetta, who thanks to it embarks on a real path of personal redemption".
